Applications of ICT in Everyday Life
What is Information and Communications Technology (ICT) ?
Technology Information and communications technology (ICT) can be defined as: all the technologies used to handle broadcast media, telecommunications, intelligent building management systems, network-based control and monitoring functions, audiovisual processing and transmission systems and others.
What is the Importance of Information and Communication Technology in Today's world ?
Information and communication technologies have greatly affected human life. Since the industrial revolution, man has begun to develop machines and equipment that facilitate his work.
With the advent of information technology, mankind has jumped a qualitative leap towards development on the one hand and luxury on the other hand, where the work was done in the old offices using paperwork and transactions manually, which leads to taking a long time to finish.
After the entry of technology into the world of business, agreements and transactions have been established from anywhere in the world and very quickly. Thus, ICT has a great impact on our lives.
What are the uses of ICT in our daily life ?
Information and communications technology (ICT) can be defined as: all the technologies used to handle broadcast media, telecommunications, intelligent building management systems (IBMS), network-based control systems, audiovisual processing and transmission systems and others.
ICT is used in most of the fields such as E-Commerce, E-governance, Banking, Agriculture, Education, Medicine, Defense, Transport, etc.
On the industrial side: The entry of ICT after the industrial revolution led to the development of the machines used and linking them to the web to send orders to them from different sectors.
ICT has increased the productivity of industries and reduced the time required to achieve the desired goal.
In the political and military aspects: Information technology has played a major role in the power and dominance of the state.
The major countries sought to develop means of communication and means of obtaining information about the enemy.
The amount of information available became a serious weapon in which entire countries could be destroyed: radars, drones.
Encrypted information is one of the fundamentals of military power in the state.
In the home electronics: The use of ICT in domestic electronics is developing rapidly. ICT equipment is used to increase access to home care. As it became possible to manage the house through a system that controls lighting, home security, air conditioning, and others.
In the medical science: ICT are related to the devices, resources and tools needed to improve the acquisition, retrieval, storage and use of information in health and biomedicine.
That is why we find that most of the medical devices that now exist rely on ICT in the way of use, detection and treatment of diseases.
Health informatics tools include formal medical terms, clinical guidelines, computers, and information and communication systems.
And their are many more sectors where ICT is used on a daily basis.
What are the Components of Information and Communication Technology?
The ICT system consists of the following components:
- Cloud Computing.
- Software.
- Hardware.
- Transactions.
- Communication Technologies.
- Data.
- Internet.
